Fremonsters recognize the quaint free Fremont branch of the Seattle Public Library as a vestige of the neighborhood’s garrulous Spanish colonial past, which, in the early years of the 20th century, before written English had a proper foothold in the publishing industry in the United States, promoted not only library materials but also interpretive salsa dancing based on dramatic readings.
